Savannah’s crown jewel just took flight…. literally. Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently delivered the first customer G800, the world’s longest-range business jet and, quite possibly, the most elegant way to cross oceans without changing out of your cashmere. Certified by both the FAA and EASA in April, the G800 is now strutting its 8,200-nautical-mile stuff straight into hangars and hearts around the world.

Outfitted at Gulfstream’s Appleton, Wisconsin completions facility, a site so polished it has its own custom-designed paint hangar, the G800 is the second flagship from Gulfstream’s next-generation lineup to enter service with what the brand cheekily calls “extraordinary program maturity.” Translation: this bird knows exactly what it’s doing.

And what it’s doing is impressive. Cruising long range at Mach 0.85 or zipping across continents at Mach 0.90 (with a max punch of Mach 0.935), the G800 isn’t just going far, it’s getting there fast. All while offering the lowest cabin altitude in the industry at 2,840 feet when cruising at 41,000 feet, 100% fresh air thanks to its plasma ionization purification system, and a parade of Gulfstream’s signature oval panoramic windows so you never miss a sunrise, sunset, or a private island.

Interior-wise, this jet doesn’t do modest. With up to four plush living areas, or three and a private crew suite, it’s more penthouse than plane. And that design hasn’t gone unnoticed: the G800 just snagged the 2025 International Yacht & Aviation Award for Private Jet Design, proving once again that Gulfstream knows how to make altitude fashionable.

For Gulfstream, the Appleton facility is more than a finishing school, it’s a badge of honor. Capable of outfitting up to 48 large-cabin aircraft per year, and now backed by a modernized MRO facility, Appleton has become a vital chapter in Gulfstream’s global production playbook.

“We have seen astounding demand for the G800,” said Gulfstream President Mark Burns. “We’re thrilled to begin deliveries and proud of the teams who brought this exceptional aircraft to life.”

In short, the G800 doesn’t just break records—it sets new expectations. So go ahead: file your flight plan for anywhere. This Gulfstream was built to outrun jet lag, cross hemispheres in style, and make 8,200 nautical miles feel like a quick hop to lunch.
