Square Bang Unico
Inspired by the Hublot's iconic Big Bang, the Square Bang Unico adds a new pillar, ‘The Shaped Collection’ to sit alongside the Spirit of Big Bang.
I nspired by the iconic Big Bang, Hublot's square iteration, aptly named the Square Bang Unico, marks the fourth shape crafted by the Maison, after the more conventional round, barrel-shaped, and Master Pieces. “The square watch is a very specific object that most watchmakers dare not tackle,” explains Hublot CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe. “This is a divisive, disruptive, and unconventional shape that no one has known how to rework for decades: it was just waiting for us! Hublot decided to get to grips with the shape in order to explore its power and create a totally unique time piece. Like any Hublot, the Square Bang Unico has no equivalent!”
While most square timepieces attempt to hide their inner workings and round movements that power them, the Square Bang Unico does the exact opposite. Hublot utilizes a sapphire dial to showcase its in-house Unico movement, a 354-component automatic chronograph set at 4 Hz, and the column wheel visible at 6'oclock. Featuring a bicompax display, the watch measures 42mm in diameter and comes in five versions. The first three are in solid titanium, black ceramic, or King Gold. The last two blend titanium or King Gold with a black ceramic bezel. Each model has a black rubber strap and a folding clasp in the same material as the case.
